Forest Hill

Forest Hill is another prestigious neighbourhood in Toronto, known for its gentle hills and winding roads. It is home to some of the city’s wealthiest residents and those with social or celebrity status. It boasts two of Toronto’s most famous schools, Upper Canada College and Bishop Strachan School, and is a popular place among established families. With a small village atmosphere, this Toronto neighbourhood’s core is focused around the intersection of Lonsdale Road and Spadina Road. This residential neighbourhood is distinguished by its architectural character and lush landscapes. The area is dominated by Tudor and Georgian style homes, but also includes French Colonial mansions and English country manors. Housing is primarily low density, although lot size is smaller that other suburban areas. Forest Hill was originally named Spadina Heights after adopting it from an Ojibwe word meaning “hill”.  In 1860, it was renamed after the summer home of the local businessman and butcher, John Wickson.
